Dr. McDonough studied Biology at the University of Kentucky and then attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. He moved to southwest Florida in 1986, loved the Charlotte Harbor area and has been here ever since. Outside the vet hospital, Dr. McDonough enjoys golfing, fishing, and playing tennis. He and his wife Laurie have two Papillons named Stella and Tenielle.
Dr. Cronin is a Florida native and received his B.S. in Biochemistry at Florida State University and his D.V.M. from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. He is a supporter of the local Animal Welfare League. He has two sons named Mason and Maxwell and a Boston Terrier named Cecelia, and 2 cats named Shades and Fraidy. Outside the vet clinic, Dr. Cronin enjoys time with his girlfriend and family and loves fishing, boating and traveling.
Originally from West Virginia, Dr. Kimbler holds a Bachelor's degree from West Virginia University in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. She went on to earn her Doctorate's degree in Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She then moved to southwest Florida where she has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2009. Dr. Kimbler's professional interests are pet dermatology and pet internal medicine. Outside the vet hospital, she enjoys gardening, kayaking, and hiking with her husband Kris. She has two dogs, Stout and Harry, and a Quaker Parrot.
Dr. Cartelli earned his Veterinary Degree at the Federal University of Parana' (Brazil) in 1997 and a Master of Veterinary Sciences Degree in 2000 right before he moved to the United States. He lived in the Cape Cod area for several years and worked in different animal hospitals. He moved to Fort Myers, FL in 2007. Dr. Cartelli main professional interests are pet endocrinology, pet dentistry, exotic pets and pocket pets and pet soft tissue surgery. Outside the animal clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife Sandra and two sons Leo and Gabe at the beautiful Florida beaches and parks, cooking Italian and listening to European Rock'n'Roll. He has 2 dogs and 2 cats.
Dr. Norris started at Charlotte Animal Hospital in February 2014. She graduated with highest honors from Ross School of Veterinary Medicine in January 2014. She completed her clinical at the University of Florida. She likes being challenged with new and exciting things at work and meeting wonderful pets in Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, and the surrounding areas. She has two dogs named Chance and Cricket, a Boa Constrictor named Sassy, and a cat named Professor Chaos. In her spare time, she enjoys her dogs, traveling, exploring state parks, photography, and lounging in the pool.
Dr. Drake earned his Veterinary Degree and Masters Degree in Wildlife Conservation at St.
Tonya was born in Ft. Myers, FL and moved to Charlotte County in 1976. She began working at Charlotte Animal Hospital as a kennel technician in 1992, worked her way around the vet hospital and is now Practice Manager. Her favorite part of the job is dealing with personnel and clients. Because of her love for animals, she has two Boxer's named "Roxy" and "Lucy". Tonya and her husband Ron have two children, Kelsey and Kyle, and an adorable grandson, Easton. Outside the vet hospital, Tonya enjoys boating, fishing, and spending time with family and friends, and Rays baseball games. Tonya's future plans are to win the lottery so she can spend more time with her family.

Michelle was born in Detroit Michigan and grew up in North Fort Myers Florida. She has been working at Charlotte Animal Hospital since early 2005.
Her favorite part of the job is her involvement in the animal's healthcare and nutrition and assisting in the treatment and surgical procedures of animals, including dentistry. She earned her Certified Veterinary Assistant Degree in 1992. She currently is a student at San Juan College acquiring her Associate of Science Degree in Veterinary Technology to become a Certified Veterinary Technologist. She is also a Veterinary Nutritional Counselor. In 2010 she was inducted as a presidential member of the National Society of Leadership and Success through her college for high GPA and academic excellence. Outside of work she spends time enjoying life and nature with her husband JR, her awesome little Chiweenie named Dapple Dan, and her family.
Joan was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Duquesne University with a BS in Education. She attended Edinboro University for Post Graduate Studies. She taught Business Education in Pittsburgh, Erie and Stoneboro, Pennsylvania. Joan owned Silver Shores Restaurant in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania for 30 years. She moved to Florida in November of 2006 and began working at Charlotte Animal Hospital. Joan has a daughter, a son, a son-in-law and a granddaughter who all live in Punta Gorda. She also has two cats named Smokey and Lilly. Outside the animal clinic, she enjoys working in the yard and spending time with family and friends. Joan enjoys every aspect of her work at Charlotte Animal Hospital.
Susan Malone brings over 5 years of experience to her position with Charlotte Animal Hospital. Before joining our staff in 2005, Susan worked as Senior Veterinarian Assistant and Office Manager for Bradford Animal Hospital in Nashville, TN. Susan is married to John (everyone's favorite retired FEDEX man) and has 2 handsome and successful sons, 4 beautiful granddaughters, and 2 very handsome grandsons. All this and she's Mom to two fabulous Boxers, Junior & Little.
Jodi has been working at Charlotte Animal Hospital since April 2014 and loves every day she is here. She loves assisting the doctors with diagnostics to help treat patients. She also enjoys working with her coworkers here at Charlotte Animal Hospital. In her spare time, Jodi enjoys going to concerts, boating, and hanging out with her husband Kevin. She has two Boston terriers named Bud and Keystone. Boston Terriers are her favorite breed of dogs.
Amy has been working at Charlotte Animal Hospital since April 2014. She loves animals and enjoys working with her coworkers here at Charlotte Animal Hospital. In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She has an American Staffordshire Terrier named Mercedes.
Senior Surgical Veterinary Technician
Dawn was born in Germany. She has been working at Charlotte Animal Hospital since 1996. Dawn enjoys helping the doctors and taking care of the animals, but her favorite job is helping in surgery. Dawn's personal interests include swimming, reading, and being outdoors. She has a Chihuahua named Maximillion.
Surgical Veterinary Technician
Meagan has been working at Charlotte Animal Hospital since January 2004. She enjoys assisting with surgeries and emergency medicine. In her spare time, Meagan enjoys fishing with her husband and spending time with her two sons. She has a Jack Russell named Jack and a Brittany named Hank.
Veterinary Technician/Pharmacy Manager
Nicole has been with Charlotte Animal Hospital since April 2006. She enjoys interacting with clients and their pets, assisting doctors during examinations, surgeries, and helping with diagnostic lab procedures and radiography. She enjoys the continual learning experiences each day brings. In her spare time, Nicole likes cooking and exploring her artistic creativity with drawing, construction and wall mosaics. Nicole has a cat called Yoda.
Veterinary Technician, Assistant Food Manager
Jon started working here at Charlotte Animal Hospital in November 2011. He enjoys assisting the doctors and interacting with the animals. He has two cats named Franklin and Noodles, in which he loves very much. In his spare time, he enjoys spending with his beautiful fiance' Jennifer and his Pops. His favorite hobby is building and maintaining his Saltwater Fish Aquariums.
Veterinary Technician, Army National Guard
Amanda has been working at Charlotte Animal Hospital since November 2013. She enjoys the diversity of the cases she sees each day and interacting with the clients. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and two beautiful daughters. She has a cat she rescued named Sketch.
Cindy started working at Charlotte Animal Hospital in 2015. She has been in the veterinary field since 2004. She spent her first 5 years in the field working in emergency and critical care. Since then she worked in surgery and general practice. She has two cats named Augustus and Louie, and a Miniature Poodle named Stanley. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, outdoors, and the beach.
Kaitlyn started working at Charlotte Animal Hospital in November 2015. She loves every second of it! After high school, she attended a veterinary technician program at a technical college in Orlando, Florida. She earned many certifications and awards. She loves assisting the doctors in treating our patients. She also loves radiology and learning new things. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, boating, being outdoors, and spending time with the fiancé Tyler, family, and friends. She has two fur babies. A cat named Otis, and a dog named Kahli.
Kayla started interning here at Charlotte Animal Hospital during her senior year in high school in August 2016 and recently got hired here in January 2017. She enjoys taking care of the animals in the kennel and assisting the doctors with patient’s needs. Her hobbies are to show cattle, fishing, hunting, and spending time with her family. She has two dogs. A German Shepard named “Sadie” and a Chihuahua named “Buddy”.
